October H2IQ Hour Webinar: HyBlend Initiative

October 18, 2023

Join our October H2IQ Hour webinar on October 26, 2023, at noon EDT for an overview of hydrogen blending materials and analysis research conducted under the Department of Energy’s HyBlend initiative. Blending hydrogen with natural gas in existing natural gas pipelines has been identified as a promising way to reduce the carbon intensity of the natural gas grid and help accelerate the transition to a clean hydrogen economy. The HyBlend initiative addresses technical barriers in materials compatibility and conducts techno-economic and environmental life cycle analyses. Subject matter experts from four national laboratories will discuss findings across each of these technical areas. Speakers will include Kevin Topolski from the National Renewable Energy Laboratory, Christopher San Marchi from Sandia National Laboratories, Kevin Simmons from Pacific Northwest National Laboratory, and Amgad Elgowainy from Argonne National Laboratory.
