Manchin backs FERC oversight of hydrogen infrastructure

Senate Energy and Natural Resources Chair Joe Manchin supports assigning significant oversight of hydrogen infrastructure — such as pipelines — to the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission, the West Virginia Democrat said during a hearing yesterday.

(…) Hydrogen, which does not burn into a greenhouse gas like natural gas or coal, is a relatively popular fuel among Hill politicians not just for its clean energy potential, but also because it can utilize existing fossil fuel infrastructure.
