Hydrogen fuel cell delivery van deployed in California

The first of 15 vans to have been retrofitted with hydrogen fuel cell electric powertrains has been deployed for delivery operations in Southern California, US. Aimed to demonstrate the potential of hydrogen FCEV vans for delivery operations, the project has been developed in partnership with Accelera by Cummins, SoCalGas, Center for Transportation and the Environment (CTE), and the University of Texas. Having successfully retrofitted and converted the diesel van to a hybrid electric drive with hydrogen storage and a fuel cell range extender, it is being used by a courier service to deliver packages within an inland region of southern California.
